GENERAL SUMMARY
Summary: The Senior Solutions Engineer is a member of the Global Solutions Center’s staff (based in Shanghai) who works with a cross functional team in order to design, build, validate, and document repeatable, proven SAP solutions for the field sales organization, partners and customers. In addition, the Senior Solutions Engineer may also design and perform pre-sales proof-of-concept tests and present product/solution demonstrations during customer briefings.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate on the design and build of solutions around SAP utilizing EMC and 3rd party hardware and software to solve customer business challenges in their SAP environments.
Install, configure, troubleshoot OS and databases during solution build and testing.
Provide in-depth support for the underlying database and filesystem for SAP systems and their interaction with storage and network infrastructure. Incorporate data protection and management functionality provided by EMC storage hardware and software into the solution.
Design and execute functional and performance tests, analyze and document these results as an integral part of solution deliverables
Development of appropriate documentation to support EMC Proven Solutions
Support testing of beta releases, patches, hotfixes and upgrades leveraged in the SAP infrastructure
Attend regular meetings and provide updates to management
Support customer demonstrations, round-table discussions and webcasts
SKILLS
Expertise in UNIX and/or Windows Operating System.
Extensive working knowledge of database administration in Oracle, MS SQL, DB2 UDB.
Knowledge of EMC products and solutions a strong plus.
Knowledge of SAP and interaction between SAP applications and underlying database, filesystems, and storage systems a plus.
Good experience and in-depth understanding of data cloning/replication and backup/recovery solutions.
Excellent English communicative and writing skills.
Ability to work as member of a global team is essential.
Ability to handle multiple projects of moderate complexity simultaneously.
Shows initiative and ability to lead projects.
REQUIRED
Education Required: Bachelors (Tech) or equivalent
Experience Required: 6-8 Years
